Supplement Information:
This sale includes a wide number of cattle from many
different pastures. Obviously the coordination of those
cattle with the vast area of which the O’Brien families
ranch can be very time consuming. There will be many updates
at the sale including registration numbers, breeding
information, service sires, tattoos, etc. We will provide
you with as much information as possible and will represent
the cattle in with that premise. Due to the lack of time at
printing not all of that information could be provided in
the sale catalog. Keep in mind this is a dispersal sale and
when an animal leaves the ring it becomes your property. The
standard guarantee endorsed by the North American Limousin
Foundation does not apply to this auction.
Cattle Producers:
It has been a pleasure to be involved with Jason, Mindy,
Ashton, Allie, Tate and Roper O’Brien and to be personal
friends for quite some time with the entire O’Brien family.
This family has made a living ranching in the hills of
Southern Missouri and will continue to be in the area for a
very long time.
Those of you associated with the O’Briens realize the work
ethic and lifestyle that they cherish. This is a working
ranch where the cattle, horses and people are expected to
pull their own weight and perform as expected. There is no
grey area with the O’Briens and Jason and his family have
lived up to these expectations.
This auction is clearly a dispersal of the cows that Jason,
Mindy and their children own. This is not a dispersal of the
famed O’Brien Farms owned by Jason’s father, Don. O’Brien
Farms will continue to run as it has since the beginning of
time, they will continue to run a purebred Limousin cowherd
in conjunction with their commercial cows. O’Brien Farms
will also continue their traditional bull sale where they
have supplied Limousin bulls for their many repeat
customers.
This is the opportunity for Jason and Mindy to “free up some
time” so they can effectively manage the operations of
O’Brien farms and service those of you who have invested in
their genetics.
Jason has done an outstanding job of assembling some
breed-leading genetics and has found cattle that will work
in a rugged environment. The collection of those efforts
will be evident in this offering. Make no mistake, these are
rugged cattle that are efficient, sound, productive and
hard- working. They have not had a feed bag strapped around
their head and have continually been asked to bring in a
strong, high-performing calf at weaning time. If they don’t,
they don’t stay around. The same goes for the commercial
cows in this offering, no pampered ones, just cows that
work.
There will also be a small group of family-broke ranch
horses in this sale. Ponies with color to some of the ranch
geldings that are used on the ranch everyday will be
offered. These horses have “been there done that.” The
entire O’Brien family rides, very well as a matter of fact,
but these are horses that have been used on the ranch. There
have been some wet saddle pads pulled off of them. There
again, these are not horses that have been in a box stall
eating corn. They are the using kind.
If I can be of any help please do not hesitate to call with
any questions or requests. I look forward to seeing you in
Pineville!
