Makin Hay has the most progeny in this year’s sale. This two-year-old will catch a lot of attention. When we started sorting bulls for the sale, this bull was definitely a standout. Like all of the Makin Hay cattle, they lead the way in calving ease. This son is in the top 20% of the breed for WW, YW and TM. His dam has a nice spread from BW to WW with a 90 BWR average and a 102 WWR average.

We don’t have very many Romero sons, but this one is an excellent representative. He comes stacked on Boone 8000 and out of a two-year-old. Romero U278 has 6 traits in the top 25% of the breed, combining calving ease and growth, which is easy to find in this herd. Romeo’s are generally easy fleshing, but this bull by far kept the most condition throughout the summer.

This ET is out of one of our leading donors, 7334. We retained this bull to use as a spare herdsire, but in the end didn’t need to use him. We think highly of his sire and use him in our ET program. U228’s dam has 16 daughters in our herd and has sent sons into herds from Harrison, SD; Hughes, KY; Bieber, ND; Geffre, SD; Snedecker, SD; Trautman, ND; Volk, ND; and one son we kept to use here on the ranch (Bieber 50 Shilling U244).
